about

Lost Radio Songs is both an evolution and departure from 'Retrovert'. Many of the sounds were generated by 'out of print' free vst instruments that still circulate among digital collectors. This accounts for the retro 80s feel of some tracks. At the same time I discovered a number of French dub bands and djs as well as some of the better British two-step and dub artists. Those were the key influence although the influences are subtle in the final product.
This album continues the learning process in terms of mixing and production. The learning curve has started to flatten so this album came together faster than 'Retrovert,' taking just about a year to complete. Tracks came quickly while playing around with 'out of print' vst instruments.
This release is put together in classic album format, that is, an 'a' side and 'b' side, with each set of 5 songs considered carefully in their sequence. It's also a bit of a throw back to the 45 minute album format. I can't quite remember where the 'radio' theme came from but it's helped to link up the different tracks. Do try them with headphones and a relaxed setting. It's neither party nor background music.
